Broken Wine Chiller Condenser Fan
One of the four components of a compressor cooling system is a fan that cools the condenser and condenser coil. When this component does not switch on with the rest of the system, the condenser and coil may overheat. In the long term, this will cause heat transfer from the system's elements to the cabinet's interior, warming it up along with all of your great wine.
Broken Wine Chiller Evaporator
The evaporator is responsible for the chilly air you experience when opening the door of your compressor wine fridge. This component removes air from the coils and cools the cabinet's inside.
Even if the compressor is running at full capacity, the unit will not be able to create cold air if the evaporator fails.
Defective Wine Chiller Thermostat
One of the reasons your compressor wine fridge isn't chilling might be a faulty thermostat. The power supply to the condenser, evaporator fan, and compressor is handled by this component.
The thermostat also allows you to manage and modify the temperature of your wine refrigerator, and if this important component fails, your wines might deteriorate. While a faulty thermostat will usually warm up the interior of the cabinet, there are times when it will chill it down to the freezing point.
Problems With The Wine Chiller Capacitor
When the capacitor of a wine chiller experiences typical issues, the compressor may not start because the device is not receiving enough power. The capacitor could burn up and seize up due to a spike in electrical current. A capacitor is connected to the compressor and causes the compressor to start.
Thermoelectric Wine Chillers
Thermoelectric cooling systems have fewer moving parts. If you stayed awake during science class, you may remember that thermoelectric coolers use the Peltier effect, which I can only describe without my brain hurting by saying that the temperature difference is created by an electrical current. Thermoelectric systems don’t add cold in as much as they take heat out. Since they don’t have a compressor, thermoelectric coolers are known for being vibration-free, quieter and more energy efficient. But they don’t typically work as well in warm areas or in places where the temperature fluctuates widely (when there is more heat to take out), and they tend to be made in smaller units, where they’re most effective.
Compressor Wine Chillers
Most wine chillers have compressors, which work just like food refrigerators. With a compressor, the refrigerant’s molecules are compressed together, creating a heated vapor, which travels through a condenser, then undergoes a flash evaporation, turning it cold. Then a fan blows air across the coils, which is where the cooler’s cool air comes from.
